Nikky Vest-02
Some cloth is too good for one life.
A vintage trucker or front-tie vest arrives in our Colorado studio the same way every Déjà Nu piece does — already beautiful, already storied, already asking to become something more. We open it at the seams. We bring in the silk.
The silks we work with are vintage French — scarves and lengths sourced for their print, their weight, their irreplaceability. A maritime cartouche. A rosette-and-ribbon on deep black ground. A baroque parade of carriages and gilded urns. Each one is cut, pieced, and stitched by hand into the back panel, yokes, and pockets of heritage American denim — blue, white, or natural cream. No two cuts fall the same way. No two vests will ever be identical.
When the silk runs out, the vest is finished. There is no reorder, no restock, no second bolt waiting in a warehouse somewhere. This is it.
Denim and vintage French silk. Colorado hands. One of one, every time.
